Images with text proposal
For this assignment, I would like to take pictures of three of the most memorable places in my college life. The whole message of these pictures is "thank you".
1. I would like to take a picture of UTSA soccer field with a practice shirt. The text will be "Seize the day" because that is one important thing I learned from playing soccer for the UTSA men's club soccer.
2. I would like to take a picture of the Thai restaurant that I was helping at. The text will be the front sign of the restaurant and "There is a place like home" because the place was like my second home.
3. I would like to take a picture of the Outpost Apartment with sunset sky. The text will be "End... is just beginning of the next" because, although I graduate from school and end my college life, it is a beginning of my new life.

Critique for Abdulmalik Alshuaibi's assignment
Motion & Sequence
Although he did not pay attention to the concept or the theme, he took pictures of cars in every picture for the motion & sequence assignment, showing his interest in cars. He took pictures of his own car, his favorite brands car, and the cars passing.
He used open and closed frame in two sets of the assignment. Both images are stopped and are also very clear since they were all taken during the day and he had low ISO. Though he used the same technique for first two sets, they both are different because the surrounding situation and the type of cars are very different: one is a truck in bush and the other one is a sports car at a parking lot.
In the third set of the pictures, he took pictures of cars passing by. He did a great job on capturing blurred motion of cars but still keeping everything else clear. On the first picture of this set (the third set), though, I found it a little bit distracting that he had the car frame on the left bottom corner of the picture.
Light
In this assignment, he did a great job using the shape. In every picture, he had clear shapes of the object. In the first picture, he has a completely dark shape of the object. However, it is distracting that the object is blurred and that nothing seems to be completely focused. He used the background light effectively on the second picture as well. his image is very clear and nothing is blurred. I like the fact that I could still see the color although most of the part is completely dark. In the third one, he took a picture of a scary looking mask. I like the shape of it, but I would have appreciated more if he had the whole shape of the mask. Also, the edge of what it looks like the power outlet on the left end is kind of distracting. He took picture of a hookah in the fourth picture. In this picture, again, he effectively used the light to create the clear shape of the hookah. The brightness in the back made it possible to have the dark shape of the hookah. I really like the contrast of dark and light in his last picture. He managed to capture the clear shape of his friend in this picture. I like how I can see the medicine and water on the left front since the picture is of his friend having headache. I would appreciate it if the background (the light part) was a little bit more blurred so that I could focus more on the object. Overall, he used the shape effectively in this assignment. However, his pictures could be improved by paying a bit more attention to the detail of each picture.

Writing Assignment
Happy Customers at a Restaurant
This picture appeals to me because I have always wanted to work in service industry, and it is my dream to open my own restaurant bars. It makes me happy to see people enjoying their time and my goal is to create such spaces that makes people happy and smile in many more places. This picture captured the very moment when everyone is having a good time with their friends and with the ones that they care and love. The picture encourages me to pursue my goal. Also, this picture makes me think of how photography can make people happy as well. I am sure that, whenever they see this picture, they would always remember the good time they had together, and will have big smiles on their faces.
